McGuinty Government Supports Skills Training In Aboriginal Community
More skills training and community activities are now available at Anishinaabeg of Naongashiing First Nation's newly built community centre.
The new facility will also provide the community with job search training, nutritional programs, and space for local events and gatherings.
These programs and services are crucial to promoting healthy lifestyles, strengthening employment and improving the quality of life on the First Nation.
QUICK FACTS
- Ontario invested $500,000 through the Aboriginal Community Capital Grants Program to help build the 4,000 square foot facility.
- In 2004 the Anishinaabeg of Naongashiing First Nation's community centre was destroyed by a fire.
- The Anishinaabeg of Naongashiing First Nation is located about 60 km northeast of Rainy River.
