Ontario Government Supports Graduate Students In Mental Health Studies

Two outstanding graduate students are receiving the Hilary M. Weston Scholarship for outstanding academic achievements in mental health studies at the graduate level.

The $7,500 scholarship will help Magnus Mfoafo-M'Carthy of Ajax, a PhD student at the University of Toronto to continue his research on mental health services in multicultural communities.  Margaret McLauchlan of Blenheim, who is pursuing a Masters in Social Work at the University of Windsor, will also receive $7,500 to develop a specialized program to support post-secondary students with psychiatric disabilities.

The Ontario government created the scholarships in honour of Hilary M. Weston, the province's 26th Lieutenant Governor, to recognize students who have demonstrated academic excellence in the field of mental health.
