McGuinty Government Investing In Local Community Projects
The Ontario government has invested $1,783,160 in London through grants for arts and culture initiatives.
Over the past eight months, the Ontario Arts Council has provided $970,760 to support the work of London artists and arts and culture organizations.
The Ontario Trillium Foundation has provided a total of $812,000 in grants for arts and culture initiatives undertaken by a diverse range of community arts organizations.

- Arts and culture are at the heart of Ontario’s emerging economy, and contribute almost $20 billion to Ontario’s GDP.
- Ontario’s creative sector is the third largest in North America by employment after California and New York.
- To help develop and promote arts organizations and artists across Ontario, the government is increasing the Ontario Arts Council’s annual budget to almost $60 million by 2009/10. This is an increase of almost 140 per cent since 2003.
