McGuinty Government Building Trade Opportunities

Strengthening trade relations between Ontario and China , the province's second largest trading partner, is the mission of a week-long visit to the Asian economic powerhouse by Sandra Pupatello, Ontario's Minister of Economic Development and Trade.

Between April 12 and 18, Pupatello will visit Beijing , Nanjing and Shanghai to expand investment and trade to create jobs in Ontario. The minister will:

  • meet with Chinese business leaders including the Ontario-Jiangsu Business Council and government officials.
  • launch the Ontario International Marketing Centre (IMC) in Beijing .   Ontario opened its first IMC in China in Shanghai in 2002.

Ontario's current trade mission follows a major business mission in 2005 led by Premier Dalton McGuinty and numerous other trade events over the past few years.
