McGuinty Government Promoting Ontario Economy In Mexico

Ontario officially opened its International Marketing Centre (IMC) in Mexico City today. The centre is one of 10 worldwide,including Beijing, London, Los Angeles, Munich, and New Delhi.
THE CENTRES:
  • Boost Ontario's strengths and expertise in key global markets
  • Attract more job-creating investments to the province
  • Provide Ontario companies with the contacts and information they need to succeed
  • Promote Ontario's interests with key business decision-makers.

Minister of Economic Development and Trade Sandra Pupatello is spending May 4-6 in Monterrey and Mexico City to strengthen the $15.66 billion trade relationship  between the two jurisdictions and explore potential investment and trade
opportunities.

  • Ontario's exports to Mexico rose by more than 250 per cent between 2003 and 2007.
  • Mexico is Ontario's third largest trading partner, behind the U.S. and China.
